LNP Capitulates

For the last fifteen to twenty years Australia has been carpet bombed with hate and fear, ignorance, stupidity and prejudice by the obscene greed of Murdoch, the IPA, Howard, Abbott, Turnbull and the others who have sought to screw the poor to give to the rich as their sole objective. In spite of everything that has been thrown at the Australian peoples the penetration of the neo-lib ultra-greed has been low. Yes, there has been a rise in racial and ethnic hatred and vilification of the disadvantaged, we do have One Nation, but considering the amount of time, effort and money that has been poured into creating those conditions we should all now be living in the post-apocalyptic world of Mad Max. But we are still here. We have survived. The Libs are now copying Labour in an attempt to cling to power, but they have done too much harm for too long for too many for that to work.

Yesterday’s Claytons Labour budget was still a neo-lib budget with all its the hidden inequalities and unjustifiable aspects. Turnbull/Morrison still rely on fear, internal security and defence as the backbone of their budget, but have capitulated by finally accepting in a limited fashion that the Australian people have a voice that has to be listened to. Not a great budget, but it does mark the beginning of the end for the horrible little people that currently call themselves the government front bench.

It is not time to relax. Now, more than ever it is time to push for Australia to re-establish itself in the world as a fair and progressive country with a belief in equality for all. Time to close the unthinkable horror of concentration camps. Time to stop judging people by their gender, their belief system or what they wear on their heads. Time to treat the disadvantaged with dignity and respect, and to end poverty in what is one of the richest countries of the world. Time to bury the extreme right under the same rock as Azazel never to be seen again until the day of judgment. Time to tell Murdoch that he cannot buy Australia, and Australia will be around long after he is dead, buried and forgotten.

Not all Neo Nazis’ gangs roam the streets of Europe.

Many are thugs roaming our boardrooms, and the club where these thugs hang out is called the Institute of Public Affairs. It is also the instrument Murdoch uses to give make his Nazis policies public whilst staying out of view.

The system is simple and effective. Decide on what Nazis policy is to be released next. Murdoch has the IPA put out a press release supposedly based on research. Murdoch then runs the press release in his rags as ‘news.’ The Title Institute of Public Affaires sound official and so Abbott can claim that by introducing such policies he is responding to public opinion and a large sector of the Australian Public believe him.

The IPA anniversary dinner April 4, 2013 (from which the ABC was excluded) gave an illuminating insight to the IPA hierarchy. Top of the tree was Murdoch. Then there were the lesser lights like Abbott, Rinehart and Pell, all of whom paid grovelling homage to the Great God Murdoch.

At the beginning of my blogging life I had few followers and now the numbers have increased I sometimes repeat my early blogs. This is one from April this year about the IPA dinner.

“Abbott compares Murdoch with God (or Snake) in the Garden of Eden (I think).

I say ‘I think’ because it is impossible for me determine exactly what Abbot was saying when he was fawning before the great God Murdoch at the seventieth anniversary IPA dinner.

Almost at the beginning of his speech about says:

In the Garden of Eden that Adam and Eve could do almost as the pleased but freedom turned out to have limits and it’s abuses, as this story makes only too clear. Yet without freedom we can hardly be human; hardly be worthy of creation in the image of God.

Tony Abbott April 4, 2013.

This is very confusing to me. Is he saying Eve supposedly defying God was good because it gave the Human race freedom (a common religious argument) or that God has rules that must be obeyed?

It is hardly surprising that Abbott does not know if Murdoch is God or the Devil. Murdoch ultimately has copyright over what the Fundamentalists claim is the word of the God, the New International Version of the Bible and he is the publisher of the Satanic Bible, written by the ‘Black Pope’ Anton Szandor La Vey. He is also a Catholic Knight Commander of St Gregory. No wonder Abbott is confused about Murdoch’s place in the Godship hierarchy.

Possibly Murdoch doesn’t give a shit as long as it is profitable.

There is a paragraph were he congratulates Jack Roskam for his defence of Western Civilization. I and completely confused by it, particularly the bit about the new version of the Great Australian silence. Exactly what Western Civilization did Jack Roskam defend and who is he anyway.

According to Abbott Roskam had a staff of 20 and Jesus had a staff of 12. I have no idea what that was about.

There is an enlightened section where Abbott says Murdoch has sometimes changed his political alliance but never his fundamental principles. At last Abbott has told the truth about something.

And he did spell out the Coalitions policies.

Repeal the carbon pricing legislation (he called it a carbon tax).

Abolish the Department of Climate Change.

Abolish the Clean Energy Fund.

Repeal section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act.

Repeal the mining Tax.

Privatise Medibank Private.

When he compared Murdoch with saving Paris in the Great War and Lord Florey, the co-inventor of penicillin I had this strange idea. Maybe Abbott is really as thick as he appears in public. Maybe it is not just an act to appeal to the bottom feeders of the Australian gene pool.

I had a lot more about the madness that is the IPA but instead please read the speech yourself from Abbott’s official website http://bit.ly/16uLdxF It gives valuable insights into the man who would be (and now is) Prime Minister of Australia.”

Since April the madness of the IPA has expanded to such policies of scrapping the Human Rights Commission. Not really madness because such a commission cannot exist in a Nazis country. To look at the IPA document on HRC go to http://bit.ly/1fzUKKJ and see just how far down the path to totalitarian government Australia has come.

Reply from Malcolm Turnbull on NBN.

As part of the campaign to persuade the coalition government to go ahead with the Labour NBN scheme emails have been sent to Malcolm Turnbull.

Here is the standard reply from Malcolm Turnbull with comments by myself inserted in italics. Before that another issue.

The following quote comes from the coalition NBN policy statement.

“To put further downward on prices, the Coalition will unshackle the competitive telecom market that Labor has tried to stamp out, and reduce the cost of the NBN to prudent levels.”

For this read “give the NBN to Rupert Murdoch.”

This Is Malcolm Turnbull’s letter.

If you wish to contact Malcolm Turnbull his emails address is Malcolm.Turnbull.MP@aph.gov.au

MT

Thank you for writing to me about the Coalition’s plan to deliver better broadband to all Australians sooner, cheaper for taxpayers and more affordably for consumers.

YA

Under the coalition scheme the user will have to pay $5000.00 for the final connection. If you add all the $5000.00 together the quoted cost by the coalition becomes just another con.

MT

The Coalition has been very open and transparent about our broadband policy that we took to the election. It is available online here: http://www.liberal.org.au/fast-affordable-sooner-coalitions-plan-better-nbn.

Unlike Labor we do not regard technology as an ideological, or even political, issue. The objective which we should all share is to ensure that all Australians have access to very fast broadband as soon, as cost effectively and as affordably as possible.

YA

But the broadband must be adequate. The coalitions policy says speeds of 25-100 megabits/sec. We are now at web 2.0 and 25 megabits is barely enough. Web 3.0 is just beginning. This is the era of 3D printing where it will be able to order and item on line and you home printer will print it for you. The US military is already trialing war zone 3D printing so they can print equipment at the battlefront and not try to deliver ordinance under difficult conditions. This technology is going to take enormous power and even the labour scheme will need to continuously updated to keep up with Technology.

MT

While fibre optic cable to the home (FTTH) does indeed offer the prospect of the highest possible speeds that has to be weighed up against the cost and time of deployment versus alternative technologies, the service levels offered by alternatives and the value or utility of those service levels to consumers.

YA

With same things, like the NBN must be right or it is no use at all. The Coalition plan is already out of date. An almost good enough scheme is no good at all.

MT

The Labor NBN plan took these factors into account when it decided that 7% of Australia would not get FTTH because of very high cost of deploying it in less populated areas.

YA

The coalition has no answer to this problemeither. It needs some serious research and the answer will probably not be cheap.

MT

Labor’s mistake was never to undertake a cost benefit analysis of the project let alone weigh up the cost effectiveness of alternative technologies.

From that initial mistake, Labor has done everything it could to conceal the fact that the project is missing all of its targets – after four years less than 2% of the fibre build has been completed. At this rate Australians will be waiting decades for very fast broadband.

YA

There is no cost benefit in something that doesn’t work. MT knows that the beginning of a project is where the bulk of the work is done with very little sign of progress. The ends brings it all together

MT

But unlike Labor we do not propose simply to make claims about the project. We will ensure that there is conducted an open and transparent audit of the project and a thorough cost benefit analysis.

YA

We saw with the coalition policy costings at the resent election they can never be open and transparent about anything.

MT

We will make sure that all Australians know how much it will really take in dollars and time to complete the project on the current design and then how much can be saved by making changes to it including on the lines set out in our policy. We will also ensure there is a clear disclosure of what alternative technologies mean in terms of service levels and relate them to both current and projected demand.

I know there are some people who say we should build FTTH regardless of the cost. It is important that Australians understand what those costs really are and what the alternatives are.

YA

The alternative is a disaster if it isn’t done properly. Yes it is will be expensive, but we must avoid another Collins Submarine debacle.

MT

Every public infrastructure project has to be carefully and honestly analysed so that governments, and citizens, can weigh up the costs and benefits.

This information is vital for the public to be fully informed and our redesign of the project will reflect this information.

The NBN debate is not over but the Coalition will ensure that from now on it is at least fully informed.

YA

I agree with MT that the debate is not over.

Regards,

Malcolm Turnbull

The Bogan Century

The Aussie used to take pride in the reputation of being lovable larrikins but that that has now morphed into full on Boganism.

Boganism has nothing to do with social/economic factors, it is a way of seeing the world. Whorf’s linguistic theory says basically that the language a person uses to think with determines a person’s perception of the world. Thus a French person will see the world differently for and English person because the concepts within the language are differnt.

The Bogan’s view of the world is determined by Australia’s national language, Boganese. Boganese is a very simple language, it consists of four imperatives, two profanities, and a given.

The imperatives are Food, Booze, Sex and Money not necessarily in that order. The first of the profanities begins with an F and the second caused Peter Slipper to fall from high office.

The profanities are extremely important in the Boganese language. They are liberally placed between the imperatives to give the illusion of sentence construction. This is the closest Boganese has to a grammatical system.

Finally it is given that anyone with the ability to see the world in any terms other than basic Bogan is a Wanker. Absolutely necessary to Bogans because Wankers are clearly inferior beings and the labelling of others as such establishes the absolute superiority of the Bogan.

Thus the Bogan is confined to a reality that can be constructed form seven words. They do give sufficient context to make it from birth to death in a simple sort of way whilst maintaining an air of total superiority. It is rather limited. It is unfortunate that the less people know the more superior they are, at least in their own perception.

There are dialects of Boganese that are spoken by ‘upper-class’ Bogans’. For example Alan Jones swaps the profanities for insults, at least while he is on-air. The insults of Alan Jones are still very basic and often involve putting people in chaff bags. Although it is stretching the limits of the perception the basic Bogans are still able to follow this and often hold Alan Jones up as having a scholastic ability to be aspired to.

This use of insults instead of profanities is used by another prominent Bogan, and good mate of Alan Jones, Tony Abbott. Tony Abbott also has added a fifth word to the imperatives, Power, which he seems to have an insatiable appetite for.

Above all is the great god Murdoch. Murdoch speaks a really upper class Bogan because he put another word, More, in front of basic words and it could almost give the illusion that he actually speaks in sentences.

Murdoch speaks in terms of More money, More greed, More Power. He also speaks of less, such as his pronouncement that giving welfare to single mothers my not be in the mother’s best interests.

The real problem is that the simplistic language and perception of the world shown by Murdoch, Abbott and Jones appeals to the basic Bogans of Australia. It may push their ability to perceive to the limits but Bogans can just understand that such great linguistic abilities as shown by Murdoch, Abbott and Jones could only be possessed by gods.

If Abbott wins the next election it could well be the beginning of the Bogan Century for Australia.

We have seen the results of simplistic thinking and simplistic leaders. When reading the speeches given at the recent IPA diner I was reminded of the speeches at Munich ’36. The proposal of drones in our skies reminds me of 1984. The continuous defining of a healthy economy by growth reminds me of Brave New World. Offshore processing of refugees coupled with indefinite detention with no legal rights screams Concentration Camp. But all this is outside Bogan perception.

Einstein summed it up nicely when he said the every problem has a simply answer, and it is nearly always wrong.

The simplistic view of the world of the Bogans’ engendered by the extreme limitations of their language my cause them to wake up one day and find that the Fourth Reich has arrived and they are mindless slaves. I wonder if Australians will notice the difference.

Abbott and Humanity (or lack thereof).

I have been going through the speeches at the 70th Anniversary of the IPA and they are really scary. They gave an insight to the thinking and the distorted meaning of the words Abbott and Murdoch et. Al. use.

It is clear from the way the word ‘Freedom’ as used in the speeches of both Abbott and Murdoch means absolutely no rules or regulations. Basically Ragan, Thatcher, G W Bush and Wall Street rolled into one. All of the conditions needed to create the GFC.

Big Business made obscene amounts of money out of the GFC. Booms and busts are heaven for the supper-rich. They are probably already planning the next.

Murdoch’s comments about “those that understand that too much welfare for single mothers is detrimental for them” shows the total lack of empathy, compassion and soul shared by Murdoch, Abbott, Pell et al. I kept hearing the word freedom and understood that to persons at the dinner it is a word devoid of humanity. Whilst I heard ‘Freedom’ many tomes I did not once hear democracy. The attitudes of the speakers gave no reason to indicate anything other than a lust for power and money.

I had intended to take the speeches and analyse them to bring the meaning of the words as understood at the IPA. I stopped because I realized that it was a descent into hell. It would have taken me places I just do not want to go.

If that is the way they think then I feel sorry for Murdoch, Abbot et. Al., because how could a person live in a place with those ideas?

It is pointless continuing. Nothing will change the lack of humanity displayed at the IPA. There is nobody home to take the message so the only thing to do is to make certain that Abbott never becomes Prime Minister of Australia and Murdoch never owns the Internet.

Abbott compares Murdoch with God (or Snake) in the Garden of Eden (I think).
